TC 9 | Cohete reigns alone after the withdrawal of Ares

Rally Blendio Princesa de Asturias

Siero / El Roxu Group

The second pass in the Siero section has confirmed the reign of José Antonio Suárez Cohete, who has scored a scratch again. With the withdrawal of Iván Ares, who after the incident suffered at the end of TC8 Colunga could not even reach the regrouping of El Roxu, the Asturian pilot is now a bit more calm. In fact, he has achieved the best time but almost two seconds slower than in the first pass. Three seconds later, Surhayén Pernía, who is second in the standings, has remained at a great distance.

Now the battle is focused on the third place. The Asturian pilot Alberto Odóñez stalks the Andorran Joan Vinyes. Ordonez has got almost six seconds in this section of Siero.

Cohete has been calm and has taken advantage of it to enjoy this second pass to the timed Siero, Nava and Colunga. "It is much hotter and we have mounted hard wheels, so it has changed. I have rolled quietly. We have to go curve by curve," said the Asturian driver. Pernía is also confident and with better feelings. "It has been a great stretch. The public encourages although there is not much fight with Cohete. What we hope is that nothing happens," he explained.
