The Princesa of Asturias-Ciudad de Oviedo starts with more participants enrolled in its history

The president of the Principality presides the official exit ceremony

In the heart of Oviedo, the exit ceremony of the 56th edition of the Princess of Asturias-Oviedo City Rally has taken place with a record of registered participants (185), and with the presence of the president of the Principality, Adrián Barbón, and the councilors of Oviedo Mario Arias and Concepción Méndez, and surrounded by thousands of fans. There will be eleven sections, one of them, the urban section of Oviedo, which has already become a classic and that this year will be held right in the middle of the test, at the end of the first day. 

On the podium at Uría Street, four pilots participated in a press conference in which they told the sensations with which they arrive at the test. Pepe López, Iván Ares, Chus Puras and José Antonio Suárez Cohete explained to the authorities and fans how they see this year's competition and what role they hope to play.

Minutes before the exit, there was the awarding of the Principado de Asturias Automobile Club awards, which recognize entities or people who for their work enhance motor sport and especially rallies. The president of ACPA, Julián Moreno, and the president of the Principality presented the 2019 diplomas to Anselmo de la Riva, regional chief of Operations; and Enrique Pavón, provincial head of Citizen Security, on behalf of the National Police Corps; Mario Arias and Concepción Méndez, representing the City Council of Oviedo, and Juan López Frade, president of Suzuki Ibérica.

Sections

The test consists of a total of 161.57 kilometers distributed in eleven specials, in addition to the 2.96 kilometers of the shakedonw of Ribera de Arriba. As is traditional, the competition is divided into two days. The timed section of Morcín starts on Friday, at 1:59 p.m.

How to follow the rally

Accessibility is one of the characteristics of this 56 edition of the test. Fans can follow the race through the official app of the rally, which has a total of 18,000 downloads, and updates all the information. The Facebook account and the web also have data to follow the competition.

Radio Marca, official broadcaster, will broadcast the rally live during the two days of competition. In addition, the RTPA will broadcast live on Saturday, from quarter past three in the afternoon, the second pass to the Siero, Nava and Colunga specials.

Motor town

La Manjoya, the town where the technical assistance park has been reassembled, will become the next motor city in the next few days. The attendance zone already opened yesterday, Wednesday, at 6pm., and will not close until Saturday, at 9 pm. In order to facilitate access for fans, the Rally Princesa de Asturias-City of Oviedo has signed an agreement with Renfe, which has established special services between the stations of La Corredoria, Uría and Llamaquique with the stop of El Caleyo.

Fan zone

Fans can enjoy a Fan Zone, enabled in the Fundación Principe de Asturias Avenue, in La Losa de Renfe (Oviedo), and that will remain open Friday and Saturday, from 11 am. to 9 pm. In the enclosure, there will be an exhibition of electric cars, official merchandising store, video screens and a simulator of the Championship of Spain in which it will be possible to feel a pilot for a day.
