TC 6 | Ares on the heels of Cohete

Rally Blendio Princesa de Asturias

VILLAVICIOSA / DOP CIDER OF ASTURIAS

Another scratch for the team formed by the Asturian driver José Antonio Suárez Cohete and his co-driver Cándido Carrera, aboard his Hyundai i20 R5, which does not seem to feel the pressure of those who are close behind. The Galician Ivan Ares and his co-driver José Pintor, also in a Hyundai i20 R5 are hot on their heels, as in this stage of Villaviciosa have been just over a second. Dani Solá, who said at the start of the race that he only came to try it out, on his return to the Spanish Rally Championship of Aslfalto (CERA), is playing a great role. He has set the third fastest time in this special and also occupies the third best overall time.

Another of the classics of the Princess of Asturias Rally-Ciudad de Oviedo: the Villaviciosa timed section of 14.80 kilometers. The sun has begun to warm up the atmosphere in a special that starts in a dark, fast and uphill area. Once on the top, a descent that leads to the crossing of Pandenes begins. The road widens for a few kilometers before entering one of the narrowest and most broken areas of the entire rally. The last kilometer before the finish line recovers a wide and well-trodden road.

The timed section of Villaviciosa will have a second pass, which will begin at 2.53 pm.

At the end of this TC 6, Jan Solans, co-driven by Mauro Barreiro, leads the Peugeot Rally Cup Ibérica. He has 5,100 to the pilot Diogo Gago and already to 22,700, to José María González.
