- Among other actions for the promotion of railway, public and sustainable transport, a Renfe Cercanías stop will be established in El Caleyo (La Manjoya) and the Rally Train will be created to transfer attendees to the opening day.
Renfe and the Automobile Club Principado de Asturias, organizer of the 56 Rally Princess of Asturias City of Oviedo 2019, join forces in a Collaboration Agreement in order to promote and encourage the use of public rail transport as a more adequate, sustainable, comfortable means , fast and safe to make the displacements of the attendees to any of the locations of Oviedo where it will take place, between September 10 and 14, one of the most entrenched and massive events of the Asturian sports calendar, declared of Tourist Interest and dean test of the National Championship.
Under this agreement, Renfe will establish, between 8 am and 9 pm on September 12, 13 and 14, a stop of the regular Cercanías service at the El Caleyo stop (lines C-1 and C- 2) in La Manjoya, where the Rally Assistance Zone will be located. The trains coming from La Corredoria (lines C-1 and C-3) will also stop at El Caleyo where the attending public can take advantage of the parking lot to leave their vehicle and reach Oviedo by train. The rest of the stages of Oviedo where it is going to be developed are the Fan Zone, in the Prince of Asturias Avenue and the classic test exit from Uría street. The permanent office is located in the Palacio de Congresos, in front of the Llamaquique station.
In addition, the Train Rally will be launched, a convoy designed to transfer those attending the opening day between Oviedo and El Caleyo.
Attendees from the rest of Spain will also benefit from the boost to sustainability involved in the use of rail transport, since the collaboration between Renfe and the Rally Princesa de Asturias allows the application a 35% discount on the General Rate / Base for any national route on AVE - Long Distance trains, and a 50% discount on the General / Base Rate for groups formed by a minimum of 10 people on routes from Madrid to the North of Spain. Promotional places will also be increased, especially on the Madrid - Gijón - Madrid routes, with a discount that can reach 70%. The schedules can be consulted at www.renfe.com. Likewise, a prize consisting of a rail trip for two people, in preferred class, will be raffled on any route of the national route, valid until June 30, 2020. The organization, meanwhile, will raffle various official garments of the test.
